These moments can be a unique and powerfully transformative experience.

feeling our feet

Date: Sunday

31 January 2021

Time: 2pm-5pm

Venue: North Fremantle Community Centre

In this workshop, we will engage with the exquisite structure of our feet through experiential anatomy, somatic movement, images and shared stories. The bones, joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments and nerves in our feet are fundamental to stability, movement, and agency. Immersion in their architecture will increase awareness of the crucial role feet play as a dynamic base of support for our verticality, allowing macro and micro adjustments with every step.

No prior experience is necessary - Brenda welcomes all levels of readiness. Her workshops offer a space for rich inquiry, personal and professional growth.

our sensory body

Our sensory body plays a vital role in how we perceive, relate to, and interact with the environment and those around us. This workshop will focus on seven sensing systems that enable us to perceive movement, touch, taste, smell, sight, sound, and proprioception. Mindful of the interrelatedness of the senses, and our perceptual experience, we will engage with their function and specific qualities through experiential anatomy, somatic movement, and shared discussion.

cellular awareness

Through breath we settle, find steadiness and connection with one another.

This workshop is an introduction to our cells and the practice of cellular breathing - a somatic approach to the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide in our cells. The technique supports cells to function optimally, generating more energy through a focused uptake of oxygen. We will begin with a guided warm-up followed by a spacious somatic movement exploration of this cellular exchange. Focusing on inner sensation and bodily perception, we will engage with the intelligence and beauty of our cellular breathing bodies.

If the challenges faced this year have left you feeling tired, depleted or distanced from your life, the nurturing practice of cellular breathing offers psycho-physical comfort, supporting you to rest, recuperate, and find renewed vitality. No prior experience is necessary, Brenda welcomes all levels of readiness – this approach offers rich application for personal and professional growth.
